Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (TMI-1)
Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 Monthly Status Reports As requested by R. W. Reid in his February 25, 1981 letter, and discussed with you on April 8, 1981, we have considered the methods available to report the progress we are making towards completion of required activities associated with TMI-1 restart. Since we are in transition between management control reporting methods, we do not have at this time one internally generated report which would satisfy your reporting requests. Further, such reports are usually of such a summary nature that, absent the more detailed and more voluminous supporting documents, these reports would not likely be sufficient for your purposes. Generation of special reports for your use only are not considered by us to be a practical alternative.
For these reasons, we propose that a monthly meeting between members of your staff, I & E representatives and our staff be held in your offices. The overall progress on major activities associated with each upcoming milestone, present completion information regarding activities which will require NRR certification, and more detailed discussions of critical path activities will be presented.
These meetings will also afford an c,pportunity to focus our respective staffs attention on any licensing matters which are not achieving timely resolution through rout *ne methods.
