." The Commission would not continue licensing reactors if it did not have reasonable confidence that the waste can and will in due course be disposed of safely. Thus, the Commisssion has itself linked continued licensine and waste disrosal. The Commission is committed to reassessing its ' oasis for confidence as new data are developed and progress is made in the Federal program."
The Commission has in fact continued licensing with no new data and no evidence of troeress concerning waste disposal. On the contrary, compacted on-site storage and AFR's with its new problems and dangers are the only " solutions" under consideration at this time.
l We consider the licensing of TMI-l as the ultimate irrestonsible action by this Commission which can only result in creating a climate of frustration leading to actions displayed by citizens of France, Stain and Germany.
The result of the referendum on Nov 4 in the State of Washington, the defeat of Rep.McCormack and Dixie Lee Ray should be a clear signal that the people have had enough.
The american people are a patient, passive and believing people the licensing of TMI-l may well be the " straw which broke the camels back".
We strongly urge you to keep it closed.
