DEGIONALIZATION OF OPEDAT00 LICEMSIM DDOGRAF On Septeher 23, 1980 you aooroved our procosal for the operator licensing pilot program on regionalization and recuested we submit a copy of the nerorandun of understanding and the inolerentation schedulo. This was sent to you as enclosures to our rero of Pecenber 23, 1980 The positions were posted and several candidates for the exaniner position were interviewed in January 1981. The applications of those persons who applied for the position of section leader were also reviewed by the selection board durino this sare period. Several offers were made to exaniner aanlicants and.1 I. McMillen was selected by the board for tha section leaders position. The freeze on hiring out a halt to our olans at that tire.
Uben the freeze was lifted for ?mC, we discovered that sore of the original acolicants were no longer interested in the positions, but we did manace to hire sore exaniners to fill positions in the headouarters organizations.
In addition f'r. McMillen was offered the section leader position and accepted.
Rased on the above inforTiation we are subnittinn a revised schedule for implerentation of the regionalization of the Ooerator Licensinc Aranch in Decion III.

The original schedule was for 25 weeks with the section leader to be selected by the end of the 8th week. This revised schedule is based on the 8th week being the new time 0.
