Modifications and Additions to Maine Yankee Technical Specifications
Dear Sir:
Pursuant to Section 50.59 of the Commission's Rules and Regulations, Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company hereby proposes the following modifications to Appendix A of the Operating License.
fH0POSEO CHANGE Reference is made to the Technical Specifications contained in Appendix A to Operating License No. OPR-36 issued to Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company for the Maine Yankee plant. We propose to modify current Technical Specifications as follows:
Replace pages 5.2-2 (Fig. 5.2-1) and 5.2-3 (Fig. 5.2-2) of Specification 5.2 with the attached revised pages 5.2-2 and 5.2-3.
REASON FOR CHANGE Many of the administrative changes which have occurred in the recent past have been associated with, or inpacted upon, training.
To properly direct, manage and coordinate these upgratad training efforts, it has become necessary to establish a separate trairing orgsnization within the company's corporate support staff.
The proposed change reflects the formation of this training department.
Additionally, guidance provided via Reference (b) indicates that the concept of an Independent Safety Engirieering Group is being considered for applicability to operating plants. Maine Yankee recognizes the value of such a group in addressing such areas as safety review and operating experience feedback.
Therefore, the proposed change reflects Maine Yankee's intent to establish such a group.
This group shall also assume the responsibilities formerly assigned to the Compliance Supervisor.
