Dear Mr. Denton:
MI p,
A survey of the members of the Middletown 4 67M 9 Association was recently conducted asking each m<
to vote either in support of or not in support of the re-opening of TMI Unit I.
The results of this survey were overwhelmingly in favor of the re-opening of TMI Unit I.The Steering Committee of the Middletown Area Association, at its monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 28, 1981, unanimously adopted the following resolution:
l I
WHEREAS, Unit One of Metropolitan Edison's TMI generating facilities produced approximately four and one-half years of trouble free service; and WHEREAS, Unit One has been shut down as a result of the nuclear accident in Unit Two; and WHEREAS, the two units can be made to operate independently of one another; and
??HCPIAC, the financial burden upon the power customers of Metropolitan Edison has escalated l
dangerously; and WHEREAS, the return te service of Unit One could t
indirectly impact the previously called for prompt and safe decontamination of TMI Unit Two; now l
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Middletown Area l
Associatfon of the Cham'oer of Commerce of the Greater Harrisburg Area strongly urges the prompt and safe return i
of service of TMI Unit One.
l l
Sincerely, m.
