Gentlemen:
Haddam Neck Plant Millstone Nuclear Po.ar Station, Unit Nos.1 and 2 I&E Eulletin No. 81-01, Mechanical Snubbers In Reference (1), the NRC Staff was provided with the details of the approach which the Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company (CYAFCO) and Northeast nuclear Energy Company (UNECO) are implementing to fully and ec=pletely re-spond to the concerns identified in I&E Bulletin No. 81-01.
In order to meet the commitments delineated in Reference (1), ICIECO is cc==encing to perform the visual and =anual inspections at Millstone Unit No. 2, as described in Reference (1), today.
In the absence of a negative response to the Reference (1) submittal, it is the intention of CYAPC0 and :CIECO to pursue the course of action outlined in Reference (1). Notification to the contrary will result in a need for a revision to the plans and schedule outlined in Reference (1).
