Gentlemen:
As I have stated on numerous occasions, it is my intent to keep you informed of the progress that we are making in the improvement of our Nuclear Training Program at Arkansas Nuclear One. Specifically, I have committed to infonn you of any problems we have encountered in meeting the conmitments of my letter of August 13, 1980, that outlined in detail our action plan to upgrade our Training Program.
As such, I would like to appraise you of delays in the completion of the Auxiliary Operator and Waste Control Operator Training Program Development.
My August 13, 1980 letter mentioned that fonnal training programs for auxiliary operator and waste control operator classifications for both units were being developed.
At that time, the tentative completion dates for these programs were February,1981, and June,1981, for the auxiliary operator and waste control operator programs, respectively.
We began the development of these programs on schedule. A major portion of this effort involved a substantial undertaking to research and assemble the information necessary to write the required lesson plans. We had not anticipated this amount of effort when we established the completion dates I previously mentioned.
This research effort has delayed the completion of the total program one month.
The forecasted dates are now March 31, 1981 for auxiliary' operator, and July 31, 1981 for waste control operator.
We are closely monitoring these programs to ensure that we do not encounter any further delays.

Mr. K. V. Seyfrit February 11, 1981 Even though the completion dates of the total program have been delayed, we have produced some lesson plans as a result of our effort.
In fact, some of the first lesson plans developed have already been used for auxiliary operator training. New lesson plans will be incorporated into the program as they are developed.
Lesson plans are reviewed and recommendations made where changes are warranted..The review process will continue after the development completion dates.
This will provi(2 a means by which to modify the program to improve lesson plan content.
I will continue to appraise you of significant actions in our Nuclear Training Program.
