Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
On Thursday, February 19, 1981, Mr. Virgil Brownlee of NRC Region II was notified of a potential significant deficiency or potential substantial safety hazard concerning circuit board failure in Westinghouse 7300 series Nuclear Power Plant Control Instrumentation.
Nuclear Engineering is presently reviewin ~:he number of failures that have occurred since the control instrumentation has oeen installed. Since the scope of the review is broad, the final report is not expected until two or three months.
