J.
G.
Keppler letter to C. Reed dated November 19, 1980.
Dear Mr. Keppler:
In response to the Reference (a) request, enclosed are the Dresden, Quad Cities, and Zion Station desireo locations for installation of one way speaker jacks on the Emergency Notification System (ENS) and Health Physics Network (HPN).
The Dresden Station response includes the installation of two-way headset jacks, at our expense, onto the ENS and HPN systems.
These headset jacks would enable a person to effectively communicate plant status information to interested NRC staff, without requiring personnel to "run" back and forth between infor: nation display centers and ENS or HPN telephones.
We intend to use only one headset with each phone system so that unnecessary parties would ji still be excluded from conversation:.
It is our position that the N'
usf of headset jacks will enhance communications in the event of an (g
emergency.
If you agree, pleasr provide your concurrence with this position by February 1, 1981.
Installation will not take place
.)
without your approval.
If you have any questions in this regard, please contact this office.
Very truly yours, Thomas J. Rausch 8108260 M Nuclear Licensing Administrator Special Projects cc:
