Dear Mr. Keppler:
This letter is in response to IE Bulletin No. 31-01, dated January 27, 1981 and applicable to Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit 1.
No INC mechanical snubbers are installed at Davis-Besse Unit 1, therefore, items 1 and 2 under " Actions to be Taken by Licensees of Operating Reactors" are not applicable to Davis-Besse 1.
Item 3 requested a schedule for an inspection program covering mechanical snubbers produced by other manufacturers. The required inspection program will be completed for Davis-Besse 1 prior to the completion of the next refeeling outage (currently scheduled for March,1982). As requested in item 4, the results of the inspection will be submitted within 60 days af ter the completion of the inspection.
