February 26, 1981 OFFICE OF THE CHAIRMAN co Mr. Lee M. Cassidy sc3 Executive Director g
President's Commission on Executive Exchange Post Office Box 14179 Washington, D.C.
20444
Dear Mr. Cassidy:
The Nuclear Regulatory Comission is pleased to participate again in the President's Executive Exchange Program.through the placement of an exchange executive from the private sector with our agency. We have identified a host position in the office of Commissioner Victor Gilinsky. The individual selected will report directly to Commissioner Gilinsky with duties and responsibilities outlined in the enclosed Government Host Position Description..The position should offer the private sector executive the opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the problems and challenges of an independent regulatory agency.
We regret we do not have a nomination from the agency for participation in the private sector. Because the preponderance of our executives are engineers and scientists closely associated with the nuclear regulatory process, we are severely limited in the number of NRC candidates who can meet the program's criteria -- due to the potential conflict-of-interest situations.
I hope you are successful in placing an individual with the NRC as a part of the 1981-82 President's Executive Exchange Program.
Sin erely,
