Dear Ms. Cafferty:
This letter is in response to your recent letter to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission regarding Vermont Yankee. The concerns expressed in your letter were recently considered in a decision issued on December 24, 1980 pursuant to 10 CFR 2.206 of the Commission's regulations.
10 CFR 2.206 provides~an opportunity for persons to request the Commission to take action. A copy of the decision (DD 80-36, December 24, 1980) is enclosed for your information.
As provided in 10 CFR 2.206, this decision is before the Commission to determine whether further review is appropriate.
I share your concern for nuclear safety, and will continue to enforce the Comission's safety regulations.
