NOTICE OF NON-ROUTINE EVENT INVOLVING AGREEMENT STATE OR AGREEMENT MATERIALS 02 This NOTICE constitutes an early report of events occurring in an Agreement State of possible safety or public interest significance. The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by State Agreements Program staff as of this date.

SUBJECT:
Overexposure to Radiographer Personnel of the State Agreements Program, OSP were notified by the State of Idaho on February 9,1981 of an overexposure to a radiographer.
The overexposure occurred due to failure of the source to fully retract and failure of the radiographer to perform an adeo ate survey.
Nevada officials have been notified since the over-exposure occurred while the radiographer was working in Nevada under reciprocity.
Idaho officials have contacted a medical consultant and blood samples have been obtained for analysis. The State estimates that exposure to the hands and torso (at waist level) are 100 to 500 roentgens and 900 milliroentgens, respectively.
The State of Nevada has suspended the licensee's reciprocity pending the outcome of the Idaho investigation.
No publicity has developed and none is expected.
