We have analyzed the failure of the welds and concrete at the sheet pile and whaler connection of the intake flume to the Service Water Pump Structure and have concluded that this condition is reportable as a 50.55(e).
Mr. Paul Barrett was informed verbally of this condition on January 7,1981 while he was at the Zimmer Site for an unannounced IE inspection.
Our Architect-Engineer is in the process of conducting a detailed investigation to determine the cause and resolution of this condition.
Because of winter ice on the intake flume steel we cannot estimate,at this time,when the corrective action will be completed and when our final report will be submitted. We will keep you apprised of this information as it becomes known to us.
