Dear Mr. Hearne:

I would like to add my voice to the many others who have already expressed a desire to have the Three Mile Island Unit No. 1 put back in service as quickly as possible.

The financial penalty you are imposing on the customers and stockholders of the Metropolitan Edison Co. is exorbitant and directly contributes to the inflationary spiral our country is experiencing.

Another penalty is exacted from our economy by the use of oil in other power plants to substitute for the missing output of M-1.

The accident at 3-2 was the worst nuclear incident j

this country has experienced in twenty fears of nuclear power generation, yet there was no loss of '.ife and no in3ury from it. My daughter and her fami.'.y live in the shadow of the Three Mile Island Plant--they are not concerned, and we are not concerned about the safety of operating 2-1 now.

The Will-o-the-Wisp objective of 100% safety advocated by many noisy groups is unattainable in any phase of life. You should not hold out for any such objective in deciding on the start-up of M -1.

Now is the time to give approval to M-1, and l

I urge you to do so immediately.

Yours truly, M
