This refers to your IE Bulletin 80-24 entitled, " Prevention of damage Due to Water Leakage Inside Containment", dated November 21, 1980.
Within the definitions provided by this bulletin, the Calvert Cliffs Units do not use "open" auxiliary cooling water systems for components within the containments. The Component Cooling Water Systems and Service Water Systems are closed systems in that they utilize a fixed volume and secondary boundary exists to prevent loss of containment integrity as a result of a system leak inside the containment. These systems are described in Chapter 9 of the Final Safety Analysis Report.
Enclosure (1) to this letter provides a maintenance history involving leaks experienced on the systems of interest.
