O SPECIAL REPORT NO 25 1977 Inservice Inspection No 5 Big Rock Point Plant TMInservice Inspection No 5 was condacted during the perf od July 27, 1977 t1Mough September 20, 1977 Inspections were conducsed in accordance with Sect, ion 9 0 of the Big Rock Point Technical Specifications and the rules of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code,Section XI as follows:
Vessel Crack - The Item Examination Acceptance Reflector Evaluation Class 1 71W72 71W72 Th high Energy 71W72 71W72 RDS 74 Th Areas examined during this inspection included varicus components of the reactor pressure vessel, portions of the nuclear stea= supply system and portions of
-various support systems piping as itemized in Table 2.
The examinations were performed using ultrasonic (UT), radiographic (RT), liquid penetrant (PT) and visual (VT) techniques. The various examinations were con-ducted in accordance with Consumers Power Company Systems Protection and Labora-tory Services (SP&LS) or vendor (Southwest Research Institute-SvRI) approved procedures. Exa=inations were perfor=ed by inspection personnel qualified in the UDT process utilized in accordance with the requirements of Paragraph IS-203,Section XI of the 1971 ASME Boiler-and Pressure Vessel Code. Evaluation of in-spection data resulted in two veld repairs and various cosmetic grindings and stud and nut replacements. Instances of reportable indications are itemized in Table 1.
All records detailing procedures, personnel and equipment certifica-tions, examination data and disposition of reportable indications are on file at the Big Rock Point Plant.
