The Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce, representing over 800 business firms in Berks County, voted on the following resolution:

as-the promoter or regulator of the nuclear; power industry, including its continuing responsibility for public safety, has benefited from t!e unique knowledge gained by the T31I 2 accident:
The Board of Directors of the Berks County Chamber of Commerce calls upon both federal and state legislative and regulatory bodies to recognize their responsi-bility to take positive immediate action to, expedite the clean-up of TSII 2.
Such action might take the form of: 1) legislation to establish a national nuclear insurance program on all operators of nuclear power plants to protect all beneficiaries of nuclear energy from future catastrophic economic situations due to nuclear plant accidents fmtn which funds might be nnrdnvailable to assist in T3II 2 clean-up;
- 2) allocation of research grants for goverment sponsored energy research projects to the clean-up effort at T3II 2 in exchange for the lessons learned being placed in the public domain.
