UNITED STATFS ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSICN NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF PPOVISIONAL OPERATI!D LICENSE CONSUMERS POWER C0!!PANY IOCKET 10. 50-155 Please take notice that pursuant to an Initial Decision of the Hearing Examiner dated August 16, 1962, the Lirector of the Division of Licensing and Regulation has issued Provisional Operating License No. DPR-6 to Consumers Power Company for its boiling water nuclear reactor located in Charlevoix County, Michigan.
The license authorizes the loading of the reactor, the conduct of tests and the operation of the reactor up to and including steady-state power levels of 157 megawatts thermal but specifies that the core may not be loaded and operation of the facility may not begin until the Director, Divisio". of Licensing and Regulation, has found that construction of the facility has been completed in conformity with Construction Permit No. CPPR-9 and the Application.
The License also provices that Consumers shall not load fuel or operate the reactor until it has filed with the Division of Licensing and Regulation proof of financial protection in accordance with Part ihu of the Commission's regulations in the amounts specified in the license.
The license will expire eighteen months after the date of its issuance (unless extended for good cause shown), or upon the earlier issuance of a superseding operating license.
