NRC Docket Nos. 50-295 50-304 ATTACHMENT A Response to Notice of Violation Violation Te chni cal Spe cifi cation Se ction 6. 6.3.a. l.a.3 states, in part, that the " total gross radioactivity by nuclide released, based on representative isotopic analysis performed" shall be included in a semiannual report on the radioactive discharges released from the site.

Contrary to the above, the licensee hva not accurately reported the curie content of gases released from the site.

Corrective Action Taken and Results Achieved The apparent under reporting of Xe-133 can be attributed to the calibration of the GELI detector using an incorrect sourcc geometry.

The GELI detector has been recalibrated with the correct source geometry.

To verify that all peaks seen are accounted for an intermediate printout will be checked with each sample.

Corrective Action to be Taken to Avoid Further Noncompliance All GELI detectors will be recalibrated at J year intervals, with known standards being run daily to verify proper operation.

Date of Full Compliance De cember 29, 1980.
