Dear Sir:
In response to your referenced letter, the Authority plans to upgrade the Reactor Protection System Power Supply.
The Authority staff is developing a design to provide redundant class IE Protection at the interface of the non-class IE motor generator sets power supplies and the Reactor Protection System, based on the General Electric conc ptual design as applicable to the J. A. FitzPatrick plan.
The Authority intends to submit design information within 90 days from the date of this letter and also submit proposed technical specifications along with Reload 4 information.
The Authority presently plans to instala these modifications during the 1981 refueling outage contingent upon approval of the design by the Commission staff prior to implementation and upon timely delivery of equipment.
