Dear Sir,

It was with a great deal of concern that I read this morning's Detroit Free. The article I refer to.is about the Big Rock Point nuclear power plant at Charlevoix being loaded with plutonium beginning this Saturday. How can we permit this? The story well documents the negative feelings of a number of experts in the field.

The AEC is still in doubt about any safety device at such a plant.

Yet they gave approval' Apparently none of them live in Michigan.

There has already been a leak at this plant yet the approval was not withdrawn.

We could be heading for a disaster in this state such as our' country has never seen. Let's have some foresight instead of appalled hindsight.

Please exert your considerable influence to forestall any plutonium being shipped to Charlevoix.

Yours truly,
