Dear Mr. Ahearnes

\\' j After receiving my recent electric bill I felt that I had to write to you.

I know that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission is holding hearings as to whether Metropolitan Edison will be allowed to put its TMI-l reactor on the line.

I cannot understand why the Conmission has been dragging its bureau.

cratic feet.

Met-Ed, according to media reports, has made all of the nec-essary adjustments on the reactor to comply with the rules, but yet the cnmmi ssion delays and delays. There are about 20 reactors in the United States like TMI-l which are running. Why have these not been shut down?

Because of the inept attitude of the Conmission to come to speedy decision and or compromise, my electric bill goes higher and higher. By the time you think you have figured out what is best for me, I will have paid about $2,000 extra on my electric bill for fuel adjustment, etc.

Enclosed is a copy of my electric bill which has my fuel adjustment costs circled. Since the en= mission seems to have only its interests in mind, I feel they should consider my situation, and reimburse me for my fuel adjustment charges at least. Please send the check to the above address.

In closing, I would just like to say that this is again a classic example of how the federal bureaucracy not only costs the average man tax dollars but increases living expenses by higher fuel adjustment charges among other things.

Looking forward to your reply and check.

Ynnre truly,

,f WO
