Operating Reactors Branch No 2 US Nuclear Regulatory Co==ission Washington, DC 20555 DOCKET 50-155 - LICENSE DPR BIG ROCK POINT PLANT - ON-SITE EMERGENCY POWER SOURCES By letter dated June 14, 1978, we responded to an NRC staff request concerning on-site emergency power system for our Big Rock Point Plant. This letter provides the schedule for installation of voltage protection equipment dis-cussed in our June 14, 1978 letter.
Preliminary investigation has deter =ined that Class IE undervoltage relays are available on a 2h-veek delivery schedule. Since this type of relay has not been Co=pany qualified, procurement (to obtaining a relay for testing) and qualification testing are expected to take an additional 20 weeks. There-fore, we expect to have th equipment ready for installation during the su=ner of 1979 The installation will be completed as soon as practical (following delivery of the material) without affecting plant availability and, in any event, no later than the refueling outage scheduled for 1980, f
