Dear Mr. Goller:
Mr. Donald J. Skovholt's letter of February h,1974 stated that the Big Rock Point FHSR did not explicitly address and evaluate the prob-ability of damage due to a postulated spent fuel shipping cask drop ac-cident and requested that possible damage in the event of a cask drop be evaluated. The letter request further requested that a report of our analysis and any proposed modifications be submitted by May 1,1974.
Consumers Power Company has engaged a consultant to perform the detailed structural analysis necessitated by the February 4, 197h letter.
This analysis will ret be completed until June 197h. We have discussed this with a member of the Directorate of Licensing Staff and stated that we would submit the analysis requested by the February h,1974 letter by July 1, 197h. He agreed with this delay in the requested submittal.
This letter is written to document the extension request such that scheduling of reviews by the licensing staff can be appropriately revised.
