- s'7 788-o550 May 2,1973 Mr. John F. O' Leary, Director Re: Docket No 50-155 Directorate of Licensing License No DPR-6 US Atomic Energy Cornission Washington, DC 20545
Dear Mr. O' Leary:
This letter is to apprise you that a recent radiation survey conducted at the Big Rock Point Plant indicated that strict ccepliance with 10 CFR 20.lO5(b) may not have been achieved. There were two loca-tions adjacent to a fenced controlled area where an individual could receive a radiation dose in excess of two millirems in any one hour.
The subject locations were adjacent to the vaste baling facility and to a storage warehouse.
These locations are not readily accessible to the public.
Access would require bypassing "no trespassing" signs and hiking a con-siderable distance over difficult terrain. Prolonged occupancy would be prevented by routine security guard patrols.
Corrective action taken is:
1.
Radiation levels have been reduced by relocation of stored radioactive materials.
/
C) 2.
The controlled area has been extended by installation and 00
't, posting of a new fence.
ll l?iWA g~, 7[ 3 Security guard patrol route, including a clock-punch station, has been extended to include the newly fenced area.
