BIG ROCK POINT PLANT This letter is written to apprise you of major outages scheduled for the Big Rock Point Plant during the next year.
At present, we are scheduling a cold shutdown of the Big Rock Point Plant of several days' duration to occur in January 1977 to perform Technical Specifica-tions surveillance testing that is required following six months of operation.
Also, during this outage, a LOCA qualified pressure transmitter vill be installed.
The installation of the pressure transmitter vill allow the use of an additional backup technique to determine the adequacy of core ring spray flow in the unlikely event of a LOCA. The installation of this pressure transmitter vaa discussed in our letter dated June 2, 1976.
In addition, the plant vill be shut down in early June 1977 for refueling. The anticipated start-up of the plant is mid-July 1977 following the refueling outage.
As the reload fuel vill be of a slightly differeat design than that used in the last reload, a Technical Specifications change vill be required.
A change request vill be submitted no later than three months prior to the scheduled start-up fol-loving the refueling outage.
