FACILITY: Gulf States Utilities River Bend Station, Units 1 & 2 DN 50-458; 50-459 SUBJECT-STOP-WORK ORDER RELATED TO DOCUMENT CONTROL AT THE RIVER BEND NUCLEAR STATION By telephone on December 30, 1980, the GSU site QA Manager notified Region IV that the licensee and his contractor, Stone & Webster, have issued stop work on Category 1 work. This stop-work order resulted from discovery that incoming drawings to the site had not been processed by document control since November 6, 1980, and the document control cards had not been updated to reflect these revised drawings. Some 1,853 vendor drawings and 1,089 Stone & Webster drawings were involved; however, over 80% of these drawings pertain to work which has not yet started, and another 10% pertain to work previously identified by an engineer-ing design and change request. Work will resume on a case by case basis as current drawings are released to the field to reflect the latest design revision, and com-pleted work is verified against current drawings. The licensee expects less than one week of delay.
No press release is planned by the licensee.
Site construction progress is currently reported as approximately 25%.
