m 3Ep 51980 MEMORANDUM FOR: Darrell G. Eisenhut, Director Division of Licensing FRCN:

Hugh L. Thompson, Jr., Acting Director Planning & Program Analysis Staff W

SUBJECT:

INPUT TO NRR INFORMATION CE. ER At the request of Harold Denton, MPA is assisting us in establishing a managenent infomation center for NRR initially to be located in P-422.

The objective of the center is to track current status and key parameters of major program elments (e.g., casework and operating reactors) for the purposes of managenent infomation and control. For operating reactors, the initial proposal is that the infonsation center will include an individual chart (or board) for each operating unit.

In this regard, MPA has proposed a fomat for displaying management infomation on operating reactors, as shnwn in the enclosure for Turkey Point 3.

Recognizing that the effort to keep this infomation current will be time consuming, Mr. Denton has requested that a pilot program be set up involving only one of the operating reactors branches. Therefore, we request that you select one operating reactors branch and provide similar infomation for each of its assigned plants. In this regard, any changes to the fomat (content and fonn) which you or your staff wish to make to enhance it as a managenent tood should be identified.

Please advise me by October 3,1980 as to which branch (and plants) have been selected and provide the infomation for the pilot program by October 8,1980.

Infomation 46 each plant should be sent to Manny Licitra in P-414.
