Freedom of Information Act Request

Dear Mr. Felton:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act ("Act") 5 U.S.C. 552, as amended.

This request is made on behalf of Citizens for a Better Environment (CBE) and its members.

Please provide the following documents:

1.

Copies of the submittals by Connonwealth Edison Company to the riuclear Regulatory Commission (fiRC) dated March 10 and March 27, 1980 which were reviewed by Dr. J. Weeks in a letter to the NRC on May 5,1980, 2.

Copies of the two letters sent to the tiRC by Dr. John Weeks dated May 5, 1980 and September 3,1930 and any other letters from Brookhaven fiational Laboratories or any consultant retained by the agency regarding the Dresden decontamination received since CBE's July 18, 1980 FOIA request.

All documents, studies, memoranda, letters or other material either interagency, intraagency or from outside the government regarding an evaluation or estimate of the possiblity that the decontamination of Dresden 1 using 115-1 solvent will accomplish it's goals as specified in Section 2.4 of the Final EIS for the Dresden Unit 1 Decontamination.

All documents, studies, memoranda, letters or other material related to the analyses of the " crud" performed in 1972 and 1979 which produced the data found in Table 2.1 of the Final EIS for the Dresden Decontam-ination.

In the unlikely event that access is denied to any part of the requested records, please describe the deleted material in detail and specify the statutory basis for the denial as well as your reasons for believing that the alleged statutory l

justification applies in this instance.

Please state specifically your reasons for not involving your discretionary powers to release the requested document in j

the public interest.

We anticipate that you will make the requested materials available within the statutory period.

We also request that you waive any applicable fees since disclosure meets the statutory standard for waiver of fees in that " furnishing the information can be considered as primarily benefiting the general public." 5 U.S.C. 552(a)(4)(A).
