We wish to acclaud your Board's October 31; 1980 decision to deny Duke Power the right to ship dancercus nuclear waste through the Carolinas.
As you may know, Carolina Action, a statewide citizens organization, has lono been involved in the effort to stoo Duke Power's dangerous and unethical practices recarding nuclear energy. Thank you for responding to the public outtery for protection, and for makinq the safety of the people more important than the profits and economic convenience of Duke Fower!!
The ASLB's decision aromises to brino a lonn-needed halt to one aspect of Duke Power's continual injustice to its customers, the citizens of Mecklenburg County and residents all around the state. We trust you will continue to defend our neichborhoods and families from the dangers created by Duke Power and its nuclear facilities.
