MIDDLETOWN, PA.

Washington, DC 20555

Dear Mr. Ahearne:

I believe that today with this country's increased reliance on foreign oil and with reduced asrurance of continued supply in that oil, we must more effectively utilize other energy options.

I am writing this letter to request your personal support in getting Unit 1 of Three Mile Island restarted in an expeditious way.

I think that this is essential, not only to provide the valuable energy from that plant, but also in a symbolic way to demonstrate that despite the very unfortunate accident at TMI-2, the U.S. is facing up to serious future energy problems and pushing forward with uranium for increased electrical production.

Thank you for your consideration, D. L. Fischer 6834 Hampton Drive San Jose, CA. 95120 t'
