Dear Roger:
During the December 15 meeting with representatives of Comonwealth Edison, it was suggested that the submittal to NRC for the chemical cleaning at Dresden would arrive about mid-January,1978. With this in mind, we have decided, as distmed in our December 19 telecon, to delay any assessment of the Dresden work until after we have received the submittal. The timing for this assessment will be entirely dependent upon the actual submittal date and the status of other work for this project.
We will begin work on a ge eral steam generator replacement document based on NUREG-0395 (Technology, Safety and Costs of Decommissioning a Reference Pressurized Water Reactor Power Station) imediately. This generalized document was not part of the original proposal, but was requested by you during a telecon on December 9.
This request does constitute a change in the scope and approach of this project.
