Dear Mr. Eisenhut:

This responds to your letter dated October 1, 1980 concerning environmental qualification of safety related equi] rent.

'Ihe letter requested us "to provide pertinent information relative to environmental qmlification tests to be conducted in the next two years..."

The Humboldt Bay Power Plant Unit No. 3 is presently in the cold shutdown mode and will renain in that condition until coupletion of the ongoing geologic investigation. We plan to subnit any required environmental ciualification testing schedules after resolution of the seismic issue.

Very truly yours, t
