q This refers to your letter dated October 1,1980, in response [to our detter N dated September 8, 1980.
With reference to item A in the attachment to your letter, we note that you have provided information which is different from, and in addition to, that provided by your auditor at the time of the inspection. Accordingly, this matter will be considered an unresolved item and will be reviewed again at a subsequent inspection.
The inspection proce:,s relys on the accurucy of statements made by the individuals directly involved in the matters under review. As a further check on accuracy, inspection findings are subsequently reviewed with top plant management.
You are expected to utilize this process and take whatever additicaal action is necessary to assure the flow of accurate information at the time of the inspection.
With regard to item B in the Notice of Violation enclosed with our September 8 letter, a licensee is required to comply with license provisions regardless of the method chosen to meet this responsibility.
Inordinately long delays in obtaining the required information are not acceptable because they may delay necessary action to assure that regulatory i: nits on releases are not exceeded. Accordingly, this item is still considered to be an item of noncompliance.
A response is not required for item B inasmuch as you have stated that the vendor's program will be improved. We accept this as appropriate corrective action.
