In the Matter of the

Docket No. 50-259 Tennessee Valley Authority

)

50-260 50-296 On November 17, 1980, the State of Alabama initiated a new State Radiological Emergency Plan (REP) which will not interface properly with the current Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BFNP) REP (principally in the area of emergency classifications). As discussed with M. Gaitanis, NRC/NRR, in a meeting on October 27, 1980,- and by letter from G. F. Stone (TVA) to S. B. Slone, State of Alabama Civil Defense Department dated November 5,1980, TVA has instituted procedures to handle the conversion of release rates to emergency classifications for the State. These are interim procedures to be used only until the implementation of the new BFNP-REP in early 1981.
