Nuclear Regulatory Comission (the Comissicr) has issued Amendment No.~ 58 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-28, issued to Vemont Yankee Nuclear Power Corporation which revised Technical Speci-

fications for operation of the Vemont Yankee Nuclear Power Station (the facility). lor.ated near Vernon, Yemont. The amendment is effective as of its date of issuance.

The amendment revices the Technical Specifications to authorize i

I replacement of existing pressure switches that sense reactor pressure and water level with analog loops; installation of an ATWS recirculation pump trip; and' modification of testing requirements for containment isolation valve tests to reflect changes brought about to permit port-l accident hydrogen sampling capab"ity.

The applications -for the amendment. comply with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act)..and the Comission's rules and regulations. The Comission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act.and the Comissiun's rules and regulations-in 10 CFR-Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment.

Prior public notice of this amendment was not required since the amendment does not involve a significant hazards consideration.

The Comission has determined that the issuance of the amendment will not result in any significant envimnmental impact and that pursuant to

-10' CFR Section 51.5(d)(4), an environmental impact statement or negative declaration and environmental impact' appraisal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of this amendment.
