MEETING TO DISCUSS STAFF'S CONTROL ROOM DESIGN REVIEW REPORT I

OF LASALLE

Background

As a result of our Human Factors Engineering Branch site visit to review LaSalle's control room, a report was issued and transmitted to the applicant dated October 30, 1980 relative to their findings. We requested a meeting with the applicant in order that we may discuss the areas of concern resulting from the site visit.

A listing of the meeting attendees is enclosed.

Summary A meeting was held on November 6,1980 in Bethesda, Maryland to discuss with the applicant the content of our report dated October 30, 1980 addressing the Human Factors Branch site visit findings. As a result of this meeting, we determined that the majority of our concerns were resolved by either the applicant's commitment to complete by fuel load, other specified time, or already completed. Those areas that required further work the applicant committed to a detailed analysis which will be submitted in the long tenn analysis required by us. These items were as follows:

Verify emergency plannin control room (7 .1(1)) g approved meteorological data at 5.

Review procedure for operator action on total loss of process computer system (9.b.4)

The applicant also transmitted drawings to clarify its responses.
