SMALL-BREAK LOCA METHODS Gentlemen:
Item II.K.30.3 of NUREG-0737 requests a detailed outline of the scope and schedule for the revision, if required by analysis, of the methods used by nuclear steam supply system (NSSS) vaairs for small-break loss-of-coolant accidents (LOCA). Georgia Power Company considers that the Plant Hatch NSSS vendor, General Electric Company, is the most appropriate party to address the NRC staff's concerns with small-break LOCA models for BWRs. We, therefore, request that questions regarding the scope and schedule for this requirement be directed to the Manager of BWR Systems Licensing of General Electric, Mr. R. H. Buchholz.
We wish to remain cognizant of the progress of the revision program and request that copies cf correspondence on this item be sent to the attention of Mr. W. A. Widner, Vice President and General Manager of 4
Nuclear Generation, Georgia Power Company. General Electric has informed us that they will be prepared to discuss the approach to this item by December 15, 1980. If further information is required in this regard, please contact this office.
