Dear Mr. Grier:
IE Bulletin 80-20 describes the malfunctioning of Westinghouse Type W-2 three position, spring return to neutral position, control switches.
Contact closure was intermittent with these switches in the neutral (or spring returned) position.
As directed by the Bulletin, a review has been conducted of all safety-related systems to determine if this type of Westinghouse switch has been used.
No Westinghouse Type W-2, spring return to neutral position, control switches have been used in safety-related applications at Shoreham.
In response to your request for information to assist in evaluating the value/ impact of each Bulletin, we estimate that approximately 8 engineering manhours have been expended in responding to this Bulletin.
