Gentlemen:
By letter, dated September 26, 1980, Staff counsel advised the Board and parties that it expected to issue its safety evaluation of the Applicant's pile installation proposal on or-about October 15, 1980.
The press of competing work assignments has prevented completion of the evaluation on that schedule. The Staff will issue its evaluation as soon as possible and promptly forward a copy to the Board and parties in this matter. The Staff still adheres, nonetheless, to the position that the technical merits of the pile installation proposal is not a proper issue for adjudication in this proceeding for the reasons given in its August 18, 1980 response to Board questions regarding this issue.
