Dear Ms. Cochran:
By letter dated June 30, 2019 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System) (ADAMS
)Accession No. ML19178A068), Oklo, Inc. (Oklo) submitted its Quality Assurance Program Description Design and Construction Topical Report, Oklo-2019-14-NP, to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for review. The NRC staff is performing a detailed review of this topical report to enable the staff to reach a conclusion on the safety of the proposed application.
The NRC staff has identified that additional information is needed to continue portions of the review. On December 18, 2019, NRC met with Oklo to discuss, Draft Request for Additional Information Regarding Review of the Quality Assurance Program Description Topical Report, Oklo-2019-14-NP, (ML19252G667). The staffs final version of the RAI is contained in the attachment to this email.
The NRC staff requests that Oklo to provide a response to the RAI or a written request for additional time to respond, including the proposed response date and a brief explanation of the reason, within 30 days of the date of this letter. Following receipt of the complete response to the RAI, the NRC staff will continue its review of the QAPD topical report. If changes are needed to the topical report, the staff requests that a revision to, Quality Assurance Program Description Design and Construction Topical Report, Oklo-2019-14-NP, be submitted with the RAI responses.
