UC IRVINE REPLY TO NOTICE OF VIOLATION Thank you for your letter dated January 18, 1990, in response to our letter dated December 22, 1989 and providing further response to the Notice of Violation issued to you.
Your corrective actions will be verified during a future inspection.
Your letter stated your understanding that operating tests. may not be conducted "on shift and that you will operate the reactor on some days-exclusively for the purpose of conducting the test.
Please be aware that NRC regulations do not preclude operating tests from being coincident with normal operations.
The example provided in our letter to you dated December 22, 1989 was intended to demonstrate this point, along with the necessity to have a structured program.
