My April 1, 1988 letter to the NRC transmitted a proposed amendment to l
the Technical Specifications For Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-9, j
NPF-17, NPF-35 and NPF-52 for McGuire Units 1 and 2 and Catawba Units 1
-1 and 2. This request involved amending McGuire Technical Specification.

-Action 30,.and Table 3.3-13-Action 48. The proposed Technical Specification changes allow credit for EMF-36, unit vent monitor, if i
EHF-39,~ containment purge system, is' inoperable below Mode 4, Hot Shutdown.
On January 31, 1989 the NRC' issued Generic Letter 89-01 which provided guidelines for relocating the existing Radiological Effluent Technical Specifications (RETS) to the Offsite Dose Calculation Manual (ODCM).
C McGuire and Catawba will pursue relocating the RETS to the ODCM in the near future. The Technical Specification changes proposed per my April 1, 1
1988 letter vill be pursued as revisions to the ODCM upon approval of the relocation r,? the RETS.

-Based on the above discussion, I withdraw the proposed Technical Specification amendment transmitted per my April 1, 1988 letter to the NRC.
