COMANCHE PEAK STEAM ELECTRIC STATION (CPSES)

DOCKET NO. 50 445 .;

PRESSURIZER PRESSURE TRANSHITTER  !

SDAR: CP 89 032 (INTERIM REPORT)

Gentlemen:

On November 3, 1989, TV Electric verbally notified the NRC of a deficiency involving a pressurizer pressure transmitter. This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item pursuant to the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).

Specifically, a Barton pressurizer pressure transmitter was identified as not >

having been modified for thermal non repeatability. This omitted l modification, which had been previously reported by Westinghouse as being complete, may have adversely affected the low pressurizer pressure safety injection actuation setpoint.

Further engineering evaluation is required to determine the safety

( significance of this deficiency. The next report on this issue will be provided prior to Unit I fuel load.

Sincerely.

.  ?
