Dear Mr. Keppler:
Your letter (Reference 1) requested a full-load operation test of our Emergency Diesel Generators.
The test should verify that voltage and frequency requirements are maintained and that the l
cooling system functions within design limits.

Our letter (Reference 2) informed you of the test on lA Fmergency Diesel Generator.
The 1B Emergency Diesel Generator is rated at 400 KW, The present verified load on 1B Emergency Eus is 276 KW.
In response to con-cerns of the NRC Resident Inspectors, it was agreed that a test at the full-load Load Test Rating of 300 KW would be performed.
On N'ovember 27, 1980, a 24-Hour Load Test was completed on 1B l
Emergency Diesel Generator in accordance with a special procedure.
The test was conducted at a connected load of 300 KW for 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br />.
The Resident Inspectors indicated that the successful conduct of this test would satisfy your request (Reference 1) concerning this matter.
In addition, if the load on the IB Er.ergency Bus is later increased above the present Test Load of 300 KW, a test load of at least equal rating will be provided and the 1B Emergency Diesel Generator will be retested.
