vi your request for a technical assessment of the adequacy of the New Mexico follow-up to the outstanding issues identified during i
the NRC involvement of the Church Rock dam failure. Mr. Joseph Kane, NRR, has reviewed Dr. Nelson's report and generally concurs in the findings but it should be noted that his review was limited.
It should be pointed out that the assessment only consisted of a review of documents supplied to us in your June 23, 1980, transmittal and a transmittal from UNC to me dated July 23, 1980. We cannot judge whether these documents make up the total file of technical documentation related. to this matter.
To assure that Dr. Nelson's assessment is put in the proper perspective, he included a complete listing of all documentation used in his review.
