Maine Yankee loaded all spent nuclear fuel associated with plant operation into 60 NAC-UMS canisters under Amendment 2 ofNAC-UMS Certificate of Compliance No. 72-1015 (Reference 1). As discussed in Reference 2, the 60 canisters were originally registered with the NRC to Amendment No. 2 ofNAC-UMS Certificate of Compliance No. 72-1015. Maine Yankee re-registered those 60 canisters with the NRC to Amendment No. 5 ofNAC-UMS Certificate of Compliance No. 72-1015 (Reference 2).

On January 21, 2019, as supplemented by letter dated April 11, 2019, Maine Yankee requested exemptions from certain requirements in Part 72 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations in order to permit adoption of Amendment No. 6 ofNAC-UMS Certificate of Compliance No.

72-1015 (References 3 and 4). On July 5, 2019, the NRC granted the exemptions (Reference 5).

Subsequently, Maine Yankee performed a technical evaluation to reconcile from Amendment No. 5 to Amendment No. 6 ofNAC-UMS Certificate of Compliance No. 72-1015.

In accordance with 10 CFR 72.212(b)(2), Maine Yankee hereby provides notification that the 60 canisters previously registered to NAC-UMS Amendment 5 (Reference 2), will now be registered to the NAC-UMS System, Amendment No. 6 (Reference 6). Concurrent with this change, Maine Yankee is adopting Revision 13 of the Final Safety Analysis Report for the NAC-UMS System (Reference 7). These adoptions are documented in Revision 13 of the Maine Yankee Nuclear Power Company Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation 10 CFR 72.212 Evaluation, dated December 2019.
