MEMORAN3UM TO THE FILE

SUBJECT:

PROPOSED LICENSE T0 EXPORT COMPONENTS TO CANADA, XCOM0528 On May 27, 1981, Westinghouse Electric Corporation filed an application to export one cable penetration assembly to Canada for use in the Pickering Generating Station B.

The applicant has requested by telephoni that an export license be issued on an emergency basis as the equipment is ready for immediate shipment.

The staff has concluded that the proposed export meets the requirements of the Atomic Energy Act, as amended, and would not be inimical to the comon defense and security of the United States.

In view of the above considerations, the staff issued this license without the normal 15-day waiting period.
