Enclosed herewith are ten copies of the document entitled
" Environmental Qualification Program for Class lE Electrical Equipment for Shoreham Nuclear Power Station - Unit 1", dated May 22, 1981, submitted in response to the letter dated February 21, 1980 from Mr.

Ross, Jr.
This report includes equipment located in harsh, postulated accident-generated environments, both inside and outside primary containment, including balance-of-plant equipment and equipment supplied by Shorehtm's nuclear steam system supplier.
Appendix C of the submitted document reports the status of the environmental qualification review for individual items of safety-related electrical equipment.

data for each equipment item are also shown in Appendix C, and in the environmental condition profiles (Appendix E) and environmental l
qualification summary sheets (Appendix B), which are individually rc.forenced in Appendix C.
The submitted document is intended to be responsive not only to Mr. Ross' letter but also to descriptions by the NRC staff at general meetings on July 14, 19d] and March 16, 1981 of the information required to be submitted.
